Ranks

There are 14 ranks, from Rookie to City Legend. Each promotion opens more of the city and more ways to make money.

How you earn XP

Almost everything you do earns experience: prospecting, pitching, negotiating, buying buildings and owning them month after month. The big earner is closing deals: a bigger deal pays more XP, up to a cap that rises with your rank, so no single deal skips you past a rank. The Fast learner perk (see Career and score) adds 20% to all of it.

When you cross a threshold, a promotion card arrives with confetti and a list of what's new. Claim the promotion to take it. Each promotion also pays gems for the skill tree.

Every rank

You start as a Rookie in Downtown South, with 35 buildings open to you and 3 actions a month. XP is your career total.

What promotions change

  • Districts. New districts mean bigger buildings and bigger commissions. See Districts.
  • Buildings. Some buildings in a district open later than the district itself. The Buildings page shows the rank each one needs.
  • Actions. One more action a month at every third rank, up to 6. The extra ones start the month after the promotion.
  • Financing. Hard money from Associate, a private lender from Senior Broker. See Buying and financing.
  • Business plans. Stabilize (Rookie), Value-Add (Associate), Reposition (Broker), Redevelop (Senior Broker).
  • Brokerage. Better pitches, stronger marketing plans for your listings, and bigger prospecting tables. See Brokerage.
  • Prospecting odds. A higher rank alone means fewer misses at every table.
Tip: the VIP Room opens at Managing Director, or sooner if your net worth reaches $5M first.
